Ace for a Cure is a grass court tennis event like no other. The round robin, doubles format tennis event is played in Pennsylvania on the beautiful grounds of Merion Cricket Club (by invitation only) and Germantown Cricket Club. Morning tennis is followed by a luncheon, raffle and awards for Flight winners. All levels of play are welcomed to attend and doubles players are divided into two levels: Flight A (4.0 and above) and Flight B (3.5 and below).
In 2015, we celebrated a decade of tennis as the concept first began at Germantown Cricket Club in Philadelphia by Timmi & Jim Vesci, whose daughter has type 1 diabetes. The Vesci Family wanted to rally their tennis community together and raise much-needed research funds for JDRF. Since the first tournament 11 years ago, Ace for a Cure expanded the tournaments to include events at Merion Cricket Club and Wilmington Country Club. Ace for a Cure has raised a cumulative $410,000 for diabetes research.
