What is Fund A Cure?

When a small group of parents founded JDRF, they made a promise to their children… a promise to never stop raising money for diabetes research until a cure was found. For 45 years, these parents and thousands of others have been responsible for major scientific advances that have dramatically improved the quality and longevity of life for those with type 1 diabetes. While pleased with these advances, we remain resolute in our quest for a cure.

We have a sense of urgency, but also one of hope. We are closer to our goal than ever before. At One Promise: A Gala of Generations there will be a moment after Live Auction when the room is stilled, the story of hope unfolds and Fund A Cure (FAC) begins.

JDRF offers individuals and companies the opportunity to make a direct impact on JDRF’s vital mission through a 100% tax deductible FAC contribution. FAC is a celebrated portion of the annual Gala and offers attendees the opportunity to hear directly from individuals impacted by T1D and JDRF. After the program, attendees join forces and raise their bidding paddles in support of JDRF to “fund” a cure.  Even if a donor pledges a FAC gift prior to the gala, we urge him/her to allow the Auctioneer announce the gift that evening to recognize their generosity and to motivate others to also donate. If you cannot attend the gala, please consider making a gift in support of the chapter’s 45th anniversary to FAC. We must keep this momentum going!
